"It's been hard for us. It's been a lead guitarist/vocalist and a drummer for months. Then Joe shows up, and we all feel complete," quoted from Tab himself, "I called up this one guy, John, and he hooks us up with two shows on the spot. So, while we've been pretty quiet lately, we're back August 30th, and ready to kick some ass!"
Clearly, we all need a break from time to time at rehearsal. Todd's taking the picture, with Tab on the left and Chris (the band manager) on the right. Folks, we've been quiet for a couple of months. Our sincere apologies. A lot of personal matters have torn us up here and there. Unfortunately, a member of Wolf In Vain was never introduced. Meet Todd Conrad, the official, kick ass drummer of Wolf In Vain. He's been with us for months, and he's rocking out and lending some heavy drum riffs to the upcoming album. That's all for now! We have two new additions to our store! Did you jam out to "Thrash and Burn"? Do you need a band shirt for the next big thrash metal band? We gotcha covered! While both shirts bear similar artwork, the lettering had to be re-colored on each shirt to work with the two different shirt colors. Basically, we have a white version and black version. Another interesting detail is that Taylor has this artwork tattooed onto his right shoulder blade (we pictured it below). The final part of this is that, if you haven't noticed, these shirts bear a NEW Wolf In Vain logo! So, go on! Head over to our store! All profits will be going into new equipment and for production of our debut album!
NOTE: the tattoo was done weeks ago. We just loved it so much, we decided it needed to be the new "Thrash and Burn" shirt. Also, we are partnered with Zazzle, so the actual purchase is done on their site. Don't be alarmed when a window opens to their site. Howdy, folks! Wolf In Vain is still in the middle of the writing phase for the new album, but don't worry, we have something to share! A cover of Judas Priest's classic, "Breaking the Law", has been recorded and released. You can find the stream for it below. Now, as much as we ALL love Judas Priest, the cover track has nothing to do with the album, so please don't expect to hear another rendition of it in the future. This is just a little treat for you guys. On a final note, if any of the guys from Judas Priest happen to stumble across this cover, we just want you guys to know we are not trying to take any credit for it. You guys made it, we didn't. However, the cover art for the cover track was created by Taylor Colo'n. Earlier this morning, Taylor sat down with the site editor and talked about Wolf In Vain's debut album.
You have stated in several Twitter posts that it's going. It's being done. Is this the truth? "Well, [laughs], yeah, it's in the works, but in a very early stage. We have some sick riffs laid down, and about three finished demos. Plus, I have several ideas for some songs that would just be utterly bad ass. Will you be including your old band's [Whine Or Live Fearlessly] material on this release? I've actually been getting a lot of fan mail asking about whether or not the songs would be on this one. All I can say is that W.O.L.F. died. That shit's in the past. I lost dozens of close friends because of that band. So, it's not guaranteed I'll ever go back to those. I know I did "Road Rage" and "The Killer" on stage recently, but what else could I do? I needed a good setlist, and Wolf In Vain only had the EP at the time. There was also a new song at that last show, correct? Oh, yeah! "Damned" is what I called it. I figured I'd need a good song for the show. "Thrash and Burn" came out in August, but some of the stuff was written back in January. I wanted to show that I can write on the spot with ease. Sadly, my performance wasn't the best because I forgot ALL the lyrics I wrote for it, [laughs]. What are some of the topics going on in the new album? That's a good question. From what we have so far, there will be death, racing, a conceited soul, etc. We also have half a demo done dubbed "High Velocity", which is simply about being fast, whether you're racing, working, I don't care. Just being fast at whatever you want it to be. I'm not sure we'll have "Damned" on there. I'm working on a poetry book, where a majority of the songs are apocalypse styled. That lyrics I used on stage were taken right from one of the poems I wrote months ago. And then there was a song I promised to some friends I would make. Some people will yell out their own random words when they hammer their thumb or whatever, so I decided I would have to have my own phrase, because I was always burning myself at this KFC I worked at. So, "Gosh, Darn, Damnit," became a work in progress. You just mentioned a poetry book? Well, sure! Writing a poem isn't much different than writing a song. I'm good at both. Yeah, poems don't typically get associated with metal, I know, but that's why I decided to do this. It's rarely done. Think of it as the book of heavy metal poetry. Sounds interesting. Anything else about the new album? You now know as much as I do. We're really just getting started. The only other thing I can say is that I've had many praises on "Thrash and Burn" and I've sent many fans a write-back stating that this album will be just as fast, if not faster, than the EP. Well, that's all I got from the frontman, but stick around these next couple months as I will continue to update you guys when I can! Last night was a HUGE success! Everyone had fun, even had a stripper taking a picture of Taylor during the set. Taylor also recorded a quick preview of what the venue looked like before the show. Also, if you wanted to go, but couldn't make it, Wolf In Vain will be back at The Mix in Wichita Falls on New Year's Eve! Come party!!! |
