Tonight, Whine Or Live Fearlessly will be playing at the Prosper High School Annual Talent Show. We are VERY excited. Unfortunately, we can only play one song. We picked "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath due to the fact that all hell broke loose a couple weeks before show. First of all, it was last minute, and Tyler wasn't ready to right drums yet for our current material. He knew "Paranoid", so we figured we could pull it off, since his cast was scheduled to be removed last Friday. Plans were working out fine. We had a bass player, and a drummer, and I would be lead guitar and vocals. Then Tyler had another issue. This lead to Taylor frantically searching for a new temporary drummer, in turn, leading to the phone call. Taylor has temporarily re-hired ex-drummer, Ryan Novak.

The single is coming along quite well. Just for you all to know, the "demo" was actually about half the actual recordng. The vocals were the only rough part, and the track hasn't been mixed yet. Taylor and Matt are composing the solos right now. W.O.L.F. hopes to have this single completed and released for download by May 1st. as for the EP, a few delays have been made, but it's guarenteed to be out VERY soon.
Our store now has quite a lot of W.O.L.F. gear. Go check it out! Taylor even bought a couple things off it.
We finished changing the payment method, so the store is safe to surf. We're adding aboput five new items, now, so keep watching.
We are currently updating our store with new items. This is not normally a problem. The issue is trying to change the process of how payment is made. Basically, do NOT attempt to buy a product that says "Add to Cart." Your payment will go through, but there will be no merchandise for you. Taylor REALLY doesn't want to deal with refunds so please do NOT click that button.
W.O.L.F. has set the date for the release of our single. We're not ready to announce it, though. We want to wait a few more days to make sure we can hit the date, then we'll let you all know. Taylor's working on the vocals, "I haven't fully decided how I want to sound on this. That's how it's always been in W.O.L.F. I never had MY voice. I'm working on that now.
As you all know, we were doing a documentary of us making our demo, "Back in the Day". It's really just the core duo (Matt and Taylor) in a bunch of videos. The two also narrate the whole thing, discussing lyrics, riffs, why we did things certain ways, etc. It's about an hour long. It will be released next week, possibly followed by W.O.L.F.'s single, which is CURRENTLY titled "War Strain".
"War Strain" is all about how war is just a bunch of politicians who squabble and decide to blow the hell out of eachother. The drums are quick (badass job, Tyler), so Matt and Taylor had to make sure to keep up. "I like how the intro starts. It's got piano, so it's kind of a wierd sound. The piano...it's...well, fast-paced. It adds that special something that adds up to make the song modern, while we worked on keeping the other instruments not too modern," Taylor points out, "The song isn't something we've ever written before. All five of the songs on 'Back in the Day' were different. They had that old school ring. Our EP, we're recording, sounds more of something you'd expect if Testament combined with Megadeth. Naw, 'War Strain' will be our first recording ever, and it stands by itself. No albums. No EPs. Modern, but not too modern. It's by itself, and it'll stand strong." W.O.L.F. is also working hard on the EP. We're praying we can have it out by mid-April, but as you all know, shit happens. We may not have it out until mid-May. That doesn't mean we're not going for April. We still are. Spring Break is next week, so we hope to record a demo of the EP. Here's what YOU need to do: Taylor: "We need to get out there. We need material to play at gigs. That's what we're doing. Writing. No rules. But we'd like to follow along the professional style. It seems people who pre-order always get something extra. Me and Matt were thinking. Maybe a demo of a new song? I don't know." PLEASE COMMENT BELOW IF YOU THINK WE SHOULD ALLOW PEOPLE TO PRE-ORDER THE EP, AND IF WE SHOULD INCLUDE SOMETHING EXTRA FOR THOSE WHO PRE-ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over on Taylor's personal site, he discussed briefly on what we've done these past couple weeks. During our spare time, we've been recording bits of a new song. Our first single. This won't be on any albums/EPs most likely, but will evntually be up on this site for download. Yeah, you WILL have to buy it. It's not some trashy demo; it's the real deal.
Aside from that, Matt and Taylor (sadly, Burkhart was unable to attend) went to Gigantour on Thursday. Yeah, they met Megadeth. In case some of you don't know: (from left to right) Chris Broderick, Dave Mustaine, Daived Ellefson, and Shawn Drover. Obviously, that's Taylor and Matt. |
