You have stated in several Twitter posts that it's going. It's being done. Is this the truth?
"Well, [laughs], yeah, it's in the works, but in a very early stage. We have some sick riffs laid down, and about three finished demos. Plus, I have several ideas for some songs that would just be utterly bad ass.
Will you be including your old band's [Whine Or Live Fearlessly] material on this release?
I've actually been getting a lot of fan mail asking about whether or not the songs would be on this one. All I can say is that W.O.L.F. died. That shit's in the past. I lost dozens of close friends because of that band. So, it's not guaranteed I'll ever go back to those. I know I did "Road Rage" and "The Killer" on stage recently, but what else could I do? I needed a good setlist, and Wolf In Vain only had the EP at the time.
There was also a new song at that last show, correct?
Oh, yeah! "Damned" is what I called it. I figured I'd need a good song for the show. "Thrash and Burn" came out in August, but some of the stuff was written back in January. I wanted to show that I can write on the spot with ease. Sadly, my performance wasn't the best because I forgot ALL the lyrics I wrote for it, [laughs].
What are some of the topics going on in the new album?
That's a good question. From what we have so far, there will be death, racing, a conceited soul, etc. We also have half a demo done dubbed "High Velocity", which is simply about being fast, whether you're racing, working, I don't care. Just being fast at whatever you want it to be. I'm not sure we'll have "Damned" on there. I'm working on a poetry book, where a majority of the songs are apocalypse styled. That lyrics I used on stage were taken right from one of the poems I wrote months ago. And then there was a song I promised to some friends I would make. Some people will yell out their own random words when they hammer their thumb or whatever, so I decided I would have to have my own phrase, because I was always burning myself at this KFC I worked at. So, "Gosh, Darn, Damnit," became a work in progress.
You just mentioned a poetry book?
Well, sure! Writing a poem isn't much different than writing a song. I'm good at both. Yeah, poems don't typically get associated with metal, I know, but that's why I decided to do this. It's rarely done. Think of it as the book of heavy metal poetry.
Sounds interesting. Anything else about the new album?
You now know as much as I do. We're really just getting started. The only other thing I can say is that I've had many praises on "Thrash and Burn" and I've sent many fans a write-back stating that this album will be just as fast, if not faster, than the EP.
Well, that's all I got from the frontman, but stick around these next couple months as I will continue to update you guys when I can!
