For those of you who are unaware, W.O.L.F. is redoing "Back in the Day", with a little surprise. DRUMS. We have picked a release date, but will not announce until further notice. We're slowing down with this, as not to screwup like our last demo. Above is the revised "Road Rage", which has been unmixed. We will have the final mixed version on the demo and on YouTube when the rest is released. Thanks to all for being there for us!!!

Below, we goof off for roughly two to three minutes, then we jammed, playing our song "Spirit of the Wolf"...with drums!!! Not naming what kind.
Anyways, after releasing two shitty dmeos, we've decided to release a REAL demo album. One where every instrument is clear. Every word is spoken clearly. A DEMO WITH DRUMS!!! Hell, yeah! A REAL demo. Of course, we are still only adolescents with dreams, so going to a studio for a demo really isn't ideal. However, there's some nifty apps/programs out there that could solve that problem. Anyhow, we're recording a re-make of "Back in the Day". It is still technically untitled, but we guarantee this one to be WAY better. HOWEVER, we're refusing to release dates. All we can say is later this year. Also, the cover won't be done by us, but rather our friend who decided to do the "War Strained" cover, Thomas Grim. Keep checking in regularly to get updates on the demo, as we WILL release news every week. "I really couldn't tell anyone how many people actually check out this site, or our music. Thing is, we've onl got a single out, and we've played at three gigs, one of which only had myslef as the band memebr, the other guys were...well...you know. Anyways, this is going to change shortly. We've got a demo of a cover song coming out next month. It's "Trust" by Megadeth. It's my favorite Megadeth song, and it's so inspiring when you see them play it live.
"The song also fits my life, so seeing as it fits, and I want to payback 'Deth for the inspiration, I had to cover it somehow, and Matt wanted to do it. We'll have it out ASAP." We are done with submitting everything, and it's time for the band to sit back as we wait for everything to go online.
"It's so disappointing. I've worked so hard to get the vocals, keyboard, and mixing perfect. Then we had a date set, but the company distributing our single screws up. I'm sure we disappointed lots of fans, too. 'Early Days' was months late. 'Back in the Day' was a week late. I REALLY anticipated on 'War Strain' not being late, but sure enough, it is. Fortunately, we're going to get it out VERY soon..BEFORE I graduate from high school." - Taylor Matt wasn't too pleased either. He worked very hard to craft the solos...that's right...solo[S]. Matt did in fact play some mini solos throughout the song. The track should pop up on major download sites such as iTunes and AmazonMP3 within the next few days. The lesser companies chould be releasing it in a few weeks. "While shit has happened," Taylor said, "I hope to get the MP3 out right this second, with a hard copy coming next month." Friday was a successful night, putting W.O.L.F. back where we should be. The performance was talked about quite a bit at school, so we're happy. The remixing of "Paranoid" is almost done, so it'll sound great on the single release.
Speaking of "single release," we've finished literally every part of "War Strained"...excluding the lead guitar...probably the most anticipated part of the song. Along with the release, we'll have multiple new store items, begin allowing people to pre-order our EP, and start asking around for gigs. Got one for us? Let us know so we can update you on how long it'll take to prep. Tyler's back in, so we're back to last month's line-up. Still no bass player. Taylor's been asked several times if Tommy Sheppard would be the new member, but his reply was, "Tommy is a great friend, and his personality-his spirit-is perfect for us. What keeps us from allowing him in is that he JUST started bass...two days before the talent show. That's not enough experience to play stuff, like "Dark Matter." Tommy just needs more time. Another thing is that he's more into punk, which is not W.O.L.F. I can see him in a punk band twenty years from now, but not something our style." While W.O.L.F. is still short a member, we haven't slowed. In fact, we've advanced quite a bit, even with the failings of our first demo CD AND demo album. You'll be seeing us live soon enough!!! The single is coming along quite well. Just for you all to know, the "demo" was actually about half the actual recordng. The vocals were the only rough part, and the track hasn't been mixed yet. Taylor and Matt are composing the solos right now. W.O.L.F. hopes to have this single completed and released for download by May 1st. as for the EP, a few delays have been made, but it's guarenteed to be out VERY soon.
As you all know, we were doing a documentary of us making our demo, "Back in the Day". It's really just the core duo (Matt and Taylor) in a bunch of videos. The two also narrate the whole thing, discussing lyrics, riffs, why we did things certain ways, etc. It's about an hour long. It will be released next week, possibly followed by W.O.L.F.'s single, which is CURRENTLY titled "War Strain".
"War Strain" is all about how war is just a bunch of politicians who squabble and decide to blow the hell out of eachother. The drums are quick (badass job, Tyler), so Matt and Taylor had to make sure to keep up. "I like how the intro starts. It's got piano, so it's kind of a wierd sound. The piano...it's...well, fast-paced. It adds that special something that adds up to make the song modern, while we worked on keeping the other instruments not too modern," Taylor points out, "The song isn't something we've ever written before. All five of the songs on 'Back in the Day' were different. They had that old school ring. Our EP, we're recording, sounds more of something you'd expect if Testament combined with Megadeth. Naw, 'War Strain' will be our first recording ever, and it stands by itself. No albums. No EPs. Modern, but not too modern. It's by itself, and it'll stand strong." W.O.L.F. is also working hard on the EP. We're praying we can have it out by mid-April, but as you all know, shit happens. We may not have it out until mid-May. That doesn't mean we're not going for April. We still are. Spring Break is next week, so we hope to record a demo of the EP. Here's what YOU need to do: Taylor: "We need to get out there. We need material to play at gigs. That's what we're doing. Writing. No rules. But we'd like to follow along the professional style. It seems people who pre-order always get something extra. Me and Matt were thinking. Maybe a demo of a new song? I don't know." PLEASE COMMENT BELOW IF YOU THINK WE SHOULD ALLOW PEOPLE TO PRE-ORDER THE EP, AND IF WE SHOULD INCLUDE SOMETHING EXTRA FOR THOSE WHO PRE-ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What would you guys like out of W.O.L.F. first?
1. EP 2. Live Album 3. Studio Album Taylor and Matt are just trying to decide how we want to get this band truly started. |
